We boast the distinction of being the only law firm in Contra Costa County with an office in Antioch and a certified family law specialist. Mr. Lederman is a member of the Board of Directors of the Contra Costa County Bar Association's Family Law Section and served as Section President in 2008. He is joined in the family law practice area by Thomas H. Smith.

Established in 1997, the Law Offices of David M. Lederman is a law firm dedicated to meeting your family law needs. Our team consists of two attorneys, supported by a professional staff. They work together to provide effective legal services for our clients.
We guide clients through the divorce process and develop workable child custody and visitation arrangements. We protect the assets of clients and work to achieve fair property settlements. When necessary, we litigate aggressively to protect our clients’ rights and achieve their goals. We represent clients in interstate and international family law disputes.

Experienced — Our attorneys have a record of success in challenging cases. David M. Lederman has been a practicing attorney since 1995. He is a Certified Specialist in Family, certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Lederman served as President of the Contra Costa County Family Law Section in 2008 and continues to serve on the section's Board of Directors. Thomas Smith was admitted to practice law in 2000.

Our Attorneys
David M. Lederman has successfully handled numerous child custody cases involving disputed interstate jurisdictions, as well as the Hague Convention cases. He is a Certified Specialist in Family, certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization and is one of only a few attorneys in Contra Costa County to have earned that distinction. Mr. Lederman also speaks Mandarin Chinese. Mr. Lederman is a member of the Board of Directors of the Contra Costa County Bar Association's Family Law Section and served as section president in 2008.
Thomas H. Smith is a graduate of Cornell University and Golden Gate University School of Law. He is dedicated to providing clients with compassionate representation that achieves their goals.

In addition to our full service representation, we also offer limited scope representation.
Under limited scope representation, sometimes also called unbundled legal services, the client obtains legal services limited by the establishment of exact parameters around the scope of the services provided. You will control your case and your expenses associated with your case. As part of the unbundled program the Law Offices of David M. Lederman has established a flat fee schedule for certain tasks. This way, you know the cost of representation upfront.

Part of the cost of the initial consultation will be applied to your future services with the Law Offices of David M. Lederman.
